PEOPLES PARK, TAGAYTAY, PHILIPPINES (30 APRIL 2012)

Planning a trip to the mountain area of Tagaytay this coming week.  Made a reservation at “The Theodore Hotel”.  I know nothing about the place.  We drove through Tagaytay in April of 2010 on the way Batangas.  Stopped at Peoples Park for one hour.  Before you climb up to the park, there are a few dozen vendors selling souvenirs and fruits near the parking area.  A few photos from 2010.

Philippines – 21 APRIL 2012

Drove up to the San Antonio area to check out the Capones Island.   Too many people from Manila visiting.   Stayed at the Capones Vista two years ago in late March.   Vista  filled with company outings.    Recommend visiting the area before school lets out in the Philippines.    Capones has become a hot spot for Manila area tourists.   I have photos from two years ago that I will add to my web site, once back in the states.

Boracay Departure – Day Four (20APRIL2012)

Departed the Regency at 0600 AM in a van for a short ride to beach departure area.  Waited no more than 5 minutes to leave on the boat.  Hotel took care of the bags, no worries with the luggage.  High speed boat ride was quick across the bay.    Waited 10 minutes for bus ride back to Kalibo from Boracay Regency Arrival/Departure Beach Area.  Arrived at the Kalibo Airport at 0845 AM.   Airport was really busy, the departure area needs an increase in size.   There are a few eateries on the second floor of the departure area.   Flight arrival into Manila delayed 20 minutes due to a VIP aircraft.  Who really knows????    After retrieving bags, driver was waiting with van, and then headed back to Olongapo to house.

Boracay – Day Three (19APRIL2012)

Up early for breakfast.   On banca boat at 0730 am for a snorkeling and island tour.   Went snorkeling near Crocodile Island.  There are no live crocodiles, the island looks like a crocodile, but I could not tell.    Current around the island was somewhat strong and the winds were producing 2 to 4 foot waves.   Not perfect snorkeling conditions, actually really rough.

After 20 to 30 minutes of snorkeling, we went to Laurel Island.   I took several photos and about half a dozen short videos.   On the eastern side of the island there was an excellent view of the ocean and the waves breaking on to the rocks.

Returned to Boracay about 1130 am.   Showered and went to the “D’ Talipapa” area for lunch.   We eat at the Agua Fresh Sea foods.   There are several similar eateries in this area.  When you go to the eateries at the “D’ Talipapa” you have two options; pick from the menu or walk another 50 feet and choose your seafood at the wet market.   Highly recommend that you go to the wet market and bring the selected items to the eatery.   We had three types of fish, crabs and prawns.   I selected Lapu Lapu as my fish,  the head cook at Agua Fresh prepared an outstanding sweet and sour dish.

After resting back at the hotel for a few hours headed to Boat Station three to shot more photos and the video of the sun setting.

Day Two Boracay – Part Four

In the evening at dinner at the Alf’s along the beach.  The meal was better than the first night.   Cost was 380.00 pesos per person.   After finishing dinner,  watched and took a few videos of fire dancers along the beach.   Went to the “D Mall to check-out the shops.

Forget to mentioned that I linked up with my wife and sister-in-law at Boracay Regency East Wing Swimming Pool late in the afternoon.   The pool has a swim up bar.  Outstanding place to relax and cool off after a long day.   Bar open until 10 pm.

Day Two Boracay – Early In the Morning (18APRIL2012)

On day two went out to the beach at 0545 AM and headed north towards Station One.  Walked up to Willey’s rock to shot photos.  There were a few of the dragon boat crews jogging on the beach.  Next week is the dragon  boat races.  There were about a dozen people (mostly women) near Willey’s Rock.
