Photo of the Week

I few years ago my wife and I took a road trip.  We stayed one night at the Canyon Cove Resort in Nasugbu, Batangas on the way to Mindoro.  The room was ok, but the pool was fantastic.    Get a look at  pool with the coconut trees on the little islands.  No worries about a hard coconut hitting your head management keeps trees trimmed of all fruit.  As you look beyond the pool you can see some rocks protruding above the water.   There is a reason for that, the rocks protect a very nice little coral reef.   I went snorkeling for one hour.   Assume experience.

Photo of the Week

I have been to the Capone  and Camara islands in Pundaquit, Zambales, Philippines several times.   In January of 2014 captured this photo of the ridgeline on Capone Island.   Was a very clear day and the sun was beginning its approach towards the western skyline.

Photo of the Week

I was trying to decide which photo to display this week.   I had two in mind; “The village  on the River” on the way to Pundaquit or the “The chickens eating raw coconut” in Carcar Cebu.

I finally decided on the “Village”.

Village on the Water

Village on the Water

If you ever have a chance to go to the Capones and Camera islands in Pundaquit Zambales,  there is only one way in and out, and it is across a way one bridge.  As you cross the bridge look to the right and you will see a “Village on the River“.   Sounds like a title to a hit song.  Kind of like “Smoke on the Water” by the band Deep Purple.  Maybe I’m on to something, never mind you get the idea.   You have to be there to see it and get this shot.

Photo of the Week

When you visit the Philippines, and go to any beach area, you are most likely to see a banca boat.   The banca boats come in all sizes and colors.  During my traveling adventures, I have taken several banca boats in Subic Bay, Capones, One Hundred Islands, Puerto Galera in Mindoro and Boracay.   Jump on one and go from one island to another.  Take one for a snorkeling trip.   Or just take one to an isolated beach to be with you family, friends or maybe your sweetheart.   On a small banca you can go to some of the smallest beaches, and have a wonderful  picnic.
